Position Title ADJUNCT PLUMBING TRADES INSTRUCTOR- KOSCUISKO
General Statement of Function

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Train student to ensure they possess the skills to become employed in an entry level position in plumbing trades career paths. Must possess the skill the teach students to assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.

Qualifications/Skills

Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office application; advanced oral and written communication skills and possess strong interpersonal skills; demonstrate good judgment and discretion; self-motivated and flexible; strong problem solving skills; leadership & commitment to continuous improvement.
Education: Six years of plumbing experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. NCCER certified preferred but not required.
Experience Required:
•Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the plumbing trade.
•Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes.
•Knowledge of the mechanical operation of equipment such as pumps, boilers, heaters, and other plumbing components.
•Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of plumbing systems

Job Description

1. Train students on safety issues on the job.
2. Instruct students how to inspect structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
4. Ensure students know how to locate and mark position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.
5. Ensure students know how to cut openings in the walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fitting, using hand tools and power tools.
6. Ensure students know how to proficiently cut and thread pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch and pipe threading machine.
6. Effectively and efficiently resolve student issues.
7. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
9. Adequately maintain student records.
